On November 26, 2024, former OpenAI employee, Suchir Balaji, was found dead in his San Francisco apartment of an apparent gunshot wound to the head. Law Enforcement quickly ruled the death a suicide.
Suchir's parents suspect something different. Suchir had quit his job with OpenAI three months earlier. He accused his former employer of copyright violations and had recently been named as a potential witness in a lawsuit filed against them. Was Suchir's death an effort to silence him?
